Strong continuous investment for delivering customer value | At Flight we invest substantially every year in our people, our plant and our facilities. We believe in our very strong physical presence, our hard assets and the benefits of our technologies and plant. We own our sites and operate inhouse tooling and design teams to give our customers the best possible experience.
Producing plastic packaging – thermoforming | Flight produces high quality plastic trays and containers using the well-established ’thermoforming‘ process. In this process, plastic material is fed into the thermoforming machine, heated and formed into a multiple cavity mould using vacuum and/or pressure. The result is a thin-walled plastic container in either clear or coloured material produced efficiently, and at speed; typically this packing is for:
- Food
- Retail
- Horticulture
- Pharmaceutical
Our state-of-the-art facilities, deliver a wide rage of most packaging suited to the New Zealand and Australia markets.
Retail-ready labelling | Our high speed labelling system enables retail-ready labels to be pre-affixed to retail packaging before delivery to our clients.
Meeting world leading food safety requirements – FSSC 22000 | With growing global awareness of food safety, Flight has invested substantially in attaining FSSC 22000 certification. This is a highly recognised global standard, and one that Flight is proud to attain.
Security of supply| Flight and our local suppliers hold substantial inventory of the required polymers to cover large and urgent packaging jobs. Investing in the latest high-tech extrusion and technology means we can output the volume, size and specification plastic packaging required – an especially valuable service should a customer require assistance with an urgent stock shortage or specification change.
A Range of Plastic Materials | The plastic materials (polymers) we typically extrude in-house and thermoform into finished plastic packaging products include:
- PET
- RPET
- HIPS
- PP
- ABS
- PETG
Reliability, consistency and efficiency are areas we focus on at Flight | Our facilities have maximum redundancy built in, such as our production tooling which can run multiple machines in case of unscheduled down-time, and our dual plant service systems.
